Your private driver-guide will pick you all up early from your hotel resort to drive down to the Mirissa Fishing Harbor.
💡 Traveler Tip: Because of the early morning departure, we highly recommend requesting a packed breakfast box from your hotel reception the evening before to enjoy comfortably on your journey or aboard the vessel.
Upon arrival at the jetty, step aboard a beautiful, spacious, double-decker whale watching boat. Set sail into the deep blue Indian Ocean, where an experienced crew will help you track and spot the largest animals on earth: magnificent blue whales, sperm whales, and playful pods of jumping dolphins.
After returning to dry land, we make a short hop to Coconut Tree Hill, one of Sri Lanka's most famous and stunning viewpoints. Walk up this unique, sea-facing cliff tightly packed with towering palm trees to capture incredible panoramic photos of the turquoise bays below.
Next, we cruise along the coastal roads to visit a traditional stilt fishing spot. Get an up-close look at this incredible, centuries-old fishing method unique to Sri Lanka, where local fishermen expertly balance on slender wooden poles anchored directly into the breaking surf.
As the heat of the day fades, we head into the spectacular Galle Dutch Fort. Spend a couple of hours on a guided stroll through its atmospheric, colonial-era cobblestone streets. Explore upscale boutique shops, view the historic Dutch Reformed Church, and walk along the massive stone ocean ramparts right up to the famous white lighthouse.
With incredible marine photos and sunset memories on your phone, your driver will hop straight onto the modern Southern Expressway, bypassing all local coastal traffic to deliver you smoothly, safely, and comfortably back to your hotel resort in time for dinner.
